Regardless of your project needs, Spirit Metals can tackle all your processing and fabrication. Whether you are looking for galvanized materials or custom plates, Spirit can handle it. We offer various processing services, including but not limited to plate burning, T-splitting, Saw cutting, CNC machining, blast and prime and water-jet services.
Blasting and priming is often used to remove the oils, grit and rust that are on materials so that the primer used will be most effective. In blasting your materials prior to adding the primer, it ensures that the paint will sufficiently adhere to the product allowing for a longer life. Many FDOT projects, the marine industry, bridges and other structural builds require a blast and prime, so you want it done right!
T-Splitting is the process of splitting a wide flange beam in half. Often this type of process is needed when your structural plans calls for Structural tees which might include trusses and in ship building.
Using a Saw cutter, Spirit can offer you great value. We will nest your materials into a program which can then be uploaded into the CNC machine, so that the least amount of waste is produced, which saves you money.
Many times, your project may require holes. There are multiple processes in which we can punch, drill or burn holes into the material for you saving you time and money. Regardless of the need, Spirit can help!
At Spirit we carry many materials in stock pre-galvanized. Galvanization is a process whereby the material is prepped and then dipped in a Hot Zinc mixture of 800-850 degrees, coating the material to prevent corrosion. This application is commonly used in marine or water rich environments where corrosion from water or weather is a consideration. If you plans call for material to be galvanized let us know!
Waterjet cutting is a process using a high-pressure waterjet with water or a mixture of water and an abrasive substance to shape or form your metal to a specific design or within certain tolerances. While Plasma cutting comes within +/- an 1/8” and can sometimes leave the edges a little rough, laser or water jetting have much smaller tolerances. Waterjet cutting has a range of 0.001 to 0.005 and provides a level of accuracy that is much needed when creating small parts or pieces such as flanges. Also used in the creation of metal art, laser or waterjet processing is a smart and ideal choice and will provide the highest level of accuracy to your project.
Providing us with a .dwg or .dxf file will allow us to review and upload into the computer your project specific dimensions giving you a high level of confidence that your project will be to spec.
Laser cutting is a process whereby a laser beam is used to cut, shape or form your metal to a specific design or within certain tolerances. While Plasma cutting comes within +/- an 1/8” and can sometimes leave the edges a little rough, laser or water jetting have much smaller tolerances. Laser cutting has a range of 0.003 to 0.006 and provides a level of accuracy that is much needed when creating small parts or pieces such as flanges.
Often your project might need something formed or bent to a specific shape. Perhaps a specific angle or channel is not made in the dimensions you need. Spirit Metals has just the team to look at what you need and provide you options and solutions to your project.
Providing us with a .dwg or .dxf file will allow us to review and upload into the computer your project specific dimensions giving you a high level of confidence that your project will be to spec. If it is something as simple as a specialty angle or channel, let us know. Typically an electronic file is not required.
